Shows &
Special Projects

SAVVY has a wonderfully busy programme, with two seasons of  shows  and multiple  special projects  throughout the year, working with a variety of new and existing artists partners

Our Summer
Shakespeare Season has ended ... well almost ...

Our amazing members performed a plethora of bite-size romps, from punky-fairies in A Midsummer Night's Dream to a Drag-Show inspired version of Taming of the Shrew.

Although our SAVVY studio might be going dark for August, our SAVVY programme will still be going strong - with a Summer Stage Academy for 8 - 12 year olds and our Adult Company taking their version of Twelfth Night to the RSC's outdoor Dell stage in Stratford-upon-Avon.

We're also busy behind-the-scenes preparing for an Autumn of masterclasses, community projects and our biggest Christmas production yet.

Stay tuned ...

SAVVY endeavours to be as  accessible  as possible, so please  let us know  if you have any specific support requirements when booking.

Our Special Projects

Although we work primarily in Croydon and the surrounding boroughs, we are happy to chat about potential projects outside of these areas, so do get in touch if you would like any further information on what we can offer, want to chat about a potential project or collaboration, or would like to discuss the specific needs of your group and working more inclusively.

Crisis Averted

SAVVY first worked with Crisis Skylight Croydon in 2018, giving people with direct experience of homelessness, the opportunity to attend our Christmas production.

We started a 12 month special project with the new (self-named) Crisis Averted Company who took part in weekly drama workshops and performance opportunities, with the chance to see productions at Fairfield Halls, work with other SAVVY groups, and gain the confidence and skills needed to increase their chances of getting back into work and ending their homelessness.

Although the project officially ended in 2020, the group continues, meeting every Monday afternoon at our studio at Fairfield Halls and we are currently working with local partners and funders to safeguard this group's future and expand its membership.

A Christmas Carol

Directed by Sheree Vickers

December 2022

Taking place in the large multi-purpose ‘Recreational’ space at Fairfield Halls, this production will feature an inclusive cast of 90-100 performers.

This brand new interpretation will be the first time SAVVY has brought our entire community together since before the pandemic.
