Taking Part
Taking part was at the heart of what we did, providing a rich and exciting programme of weekly workshops and performance opportunities.
We ran seven in-house groups at our Fairfield Halls studio, and spearheaded an outreach programme in schools and community venues. Our participatory arts programme championed co-creation with marginalised communities and integrated groups with diverse lived experiences, including individuals with disabilities, experience of displacement, trauma, and socio-economic barriers.
SAVVY had a ‘no experience necessary’ policy for anyone wanting to take part and there was no audition process to join us.
Co-creation was central to everything we did and we were dedicated to an ensemble way of working.

SAVVY aim was to create ambitious and exciting theatre with youth and community casts, raising the personal expectations of both those involved and those who come to watch.
