A RUBBISH LUNCH BREAK

A FUN clowning and PUPPET-BASED PERFORMANCE ON THE IMPORTANCE OF RECYCLING, FRIENDSHIP AND LUNCH!

Fred and George are knackered!
They’ve spent all morning sweeping and cleaning and are ready for a bite to eat … but George has noticed something strange about the rubbish pile behind him … Did it move? Or was it just the rumbling of his stomach?

A Rubbish Lunch Break is a 15-minute theatre piece, performed by a cast of two actors with a learning disability, one non-disabled actor, and one stage manager. It can also be adapted as a ‘walkabout’ piece with the actors improvising and interacting with audience as they ‘clean up’ the venue, street, theatre, carpark … well anywhere there’s likely to be rubbish!

So far Fred & George have 'popped up' at a number of local events and venues, including Croydon Council’s #IamAnArtist event, SAVVY Theatre’s 10-year Anniversary Gala, Sutton Library’s Art Gallery and they even interacted with shoppers at Morrisons as part of the Imagine Festival.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The performance piece is timed to a soundtrack and can be performed with or without lighting.

As mentioned, the piece lends itself well to an entertaining, interactive performance that can happen around various buildings and locations. If chosen to be a walkabout piece, it can then be remotely sound tracked by SAVVY Theatre’s stage manager and can be run more than once at different time slots.
