SAVVY Theatre is committed to nurturing the next generation of theatre makers. In the past SAVVY has provided a range of professional development opportunities for members, with specialist courses and masterclasses in areas such as lighting design, playwrighting, stage combat and puppetry. We have also supported members to take part in other programmes with organisations including Graeae, Frantic Assembly and the National Theatre.
Although we will continue to offer specialist workshops for members taking part in our weekly ongoing groups, our new Artist Development programmes will support emerging professionals and be open to both existing SAVVY members and outside artists, with a focus on supporting young people, d/Deaf and disabled artists, and the wider cultural community, keen to develop and share best practise when it comes to working inclusively.
We have just finished our So You Want To Be An Actor week-long intensive for young people and more details on our Centre Stage programme will be announced soon.
