Meet The Team

In addition to the Core Team, SAVVY also has an amazing group of support workers, freelance staff and volunteers who help maintain the company's various programmes - both on and off-stage.

Rob Watt (chair)

Rob is a director, dramaturg and facilitator. He is currently the Artistic Director at Theatre Centre, and former Associate at Headlong Theatre. He regularly teaches at Central School of Speech & Drama and Institute of the Arts Barcelona. He previously produced the youth programme at the National Theatre, including the largest youth theatre festival in the country, NT Connections.

Victoria Abrahams

Former Theatre & Arts Manager for the London Borough of Sutton, Victoria was instrumental in SAVVY Theatre's early development, supporting Sheree in establishing the company and bringing the community together.

Vicky Ireland, MBE, FRSA

Former Artistic Director, current Patron of POLKA Theatre, iChair of Action for Children’s Arts, Secretary of IIAN (the International Inclusive Arts Network) and Associate Director of A Thousand Cranes Theatre.

Luisa Hinchliff

Luisa is an Arts Producer and Croydon resident.  She has been working across theatre & dance for the last 18 years, and is passionate about supporting bold and ambitious artists to create new work.  Currently based at The Place, she has worked with numerous other organisations including the Unicorn, Watermill and National Theatres, as well as lecturing at Goldsmiths College and Mountview Academy.

Frances Rudgard

Frances is the Managing Director of Cambodian Living Arts and Mekong Cultural Hub, two arts organisations with a shared belief that the arts are at the heart of a vital society. After a decade living in Cambodia, she returned to the UK in 2019. She continues to work for companies in Asia, while growing her involvement in the local community in Croydon.


Dr.Cecily O'Neill

Associate Professor Emerita at The Ohio State University and an international authority on process drama.  


She is a Resident Dramaturg for New York University's annual series 'Plays for Young Audiences and has been an Associate Artist with the Unicorn Theatre.  


As a pioneer of process drama and world-renowned figure in the theatre industry, we are all excited and honoured to have her as a Patron of SAVVY.


Mark Sarfo

Mark Sarfo-Kantanka is co-founder of Cellar Door - an award winning event management company. In 2018 Mark co-founded NEXUS a co-working hub with a global membership that incubates talent, providing creators with access to partnerships that facilitates growth. Other business interests include Coffee Shotter, an independent plant based coffee shop and Bollywood Fever, the largest Bollywood film festival in the U.K. Mark was founding Chair of the Croydon Creative Enterprise Zone Steering Group and is Trustee of Upper Norwood Methodist Church.

Mridula Kaul 

With over 17 years of experience in the financial services sector, Mridula is a senior executive who comes with a wealth of strategic insight and stakeholder management skills. She is particularly passionate about motivating and mentoring people to succeed.

Brian Aris

Brian is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with wide ranging experience in finance, operations & strategic development & delivery.  He is currently Chief Operating Officer of leading London based law firm Harbottle & Lewis, and has a lifelong interest in theatre and the performing arts.

Ciara Brennan

Ciara is an arts producer and creative learning practitioner. With 15 years’ experience working across cultural participation, Ciara has worked for organisations including Access All Areas, Arts Council England, Oval House and Lyric Hammersmith. Ciara is currently Programme Manager at Croydon Music and Arts producing a Croydon-wide arts programme and leading a consortium of local arts partners. Ciara is particularly interested in access and inclusion and has worked extensively with neurodiverse artists.
