Formed in 2001, The SAVVY Young Company is a weekly group for teenage artists who are passionate about theatre and performance.

Since then the initial group has grown into a respected young company, producing unique and challenging theatre projects, with performances at a wide range of venues.

SAVVY provides acting & industry tuition for pupils aged 13-19 years of age. Weekly studies include:

voice technique
improvisation, mime & other stagecraft

SAVVY also has special days with visiting practitioners holding masterclasses in a variety of theatrical techniques.

In the past these have included workshops in pantomime, clowning, puppetry, stage combat, dance, singing, Commedia del Arte & Mask, circus skills and set, prop & costume design. These classes are usually associated with the term's work.

How?
Want To Join?
Because SAVVY is dedicated to quality personal tuition the group aims to have no more than 15 participants at any one time.

There is no audition process, although if places are tight, prospective members will be placed on a waiting list.

The cost for the 10 week term is £50.00. This is due in full on the first day of term or may be paid in two instalments. New members are able to try-out free for 2 weeks before any fees are charged.

If you are interested in reserving a place, or would like any further information on SAVVY, please contact Sheree Vickers on:
07748 - 040 614 or email:

SAVVY is a registered ARTS AWARD Centre and many young company members are currently completing their Bronze & Silver levels.

Aside from any help needed with professional auditions or requirements for college/university placements, SAVVY members also have the opportunity to take LAMDA examinations. These are now a recognised accreditation and involve performing in front of an independent examiner at the Academy in London.

"Savvy not only helped me develop my performance skills, it also developed my confidence and build new friendships! Those 5 years of laughs and fun are definitely being missed right now!" ~ Amy O'Donohoe
