"The
idea to do an
intergenerational project
had been ticking about in
my brain since 2005, when
members from Fallen
Angels (a local drama
group for the Over50's)
joined SAVVY for a
workshop event at the
Secombe Theatre. It was
further enhanced when
members from Fallen
Angels came to see SAVVY
perform in 2006 and were
so impressed that they
wanted to be a part of
something in the future.
I
must admit, I was
terrified on the first
day of rehearsals - would
the generations get on
with each other? Was it
sustainable? How could I
ensure a valuable process
and deliver a worthwhile
product (especially with
a minuscule production
budget)?
I
needn't have worried. The
cast has been exceptional
- their commitment to the
process and performance
has made directing '2nd'
a joy - and I believe the
bonds created within the
cast will continue long
after this project has
ended."

Memories" Film
As
rehearsals for the
intergenerational theatre
performance "Second From
Last In The Sack Race" came
to a close, cast members young
and old recollected and reflected
upon moments from the project.
