Week Acting Course
Tuesdays
7-9pm
Secombe Theatre, Cheam Road,
Sutton
2nd February - 23rd March 2010
Based
on the foundation blocks laid out
in Robert Cohen's ACTING ONE and
introducing techniques used by
Kristin Linklater in FREEING THE
NATURAL VOICE this 8 week course
will cover the following:
WEEKS 1-3:
Beginning to Act
(Understanding Goals &
Obstacles and relating to an
'other'.)
Tactics, Expectatons &
Subtext
(Defining a basic 'method'.)
WEEKS 4-6:
The Actors Voice
(Using relaxation &
imagery to unlock and better
understand your own unique
voice.)
The Actors Body
(Discovering the links
between the body and the voice -
or how to avoid the 'talking
heads' syndrome!)
Imagination & Discipline
(Unlocking the actors most
important tool.)
WEEKS 7-8:
Preparing A Role
(Using monologues &
duologues to look at choices.)
Performance & Evaluation
(Aside from the monologues
& duologues, the course will
also culminate in a showcase
performance play at the IMAGINE
Festival in May 2010.)

Swordplay & Tumbling
(The
3rd Sutton Youth Drama Festival)

SAVVY
is delighted to be hosting the
SYDF-3 as part of the 2010
IMAGINE Festival. Local teenagers
will be given the opportunity to
work with professionals on skills
such as Commedia del'Arte, circus
and stage combat.
